Volunteer at the School and Community Centre

Volunteer teachers change lives

Volunteer Building Cambodia’s School and Community Centre needs long-term volunteer teachers who can help make a real difference to a local community.

Our four English teachers are helping about 200 village children learn to read, write and speak English. They need volunteer teachers willing to support them long-term to help with class management, lesson planning and pronunciation. We do not need teachers to take classes as our teachers are doing great work with the students.

We believe long-term volunteer teachers will have the best outcomes for our students and teachers, building relationships, providing consistency and a stable presence where short-term volunteers can be disruptive to children and their learning patterns.

Over time, we plan to include a range of workshops and vocational skills training for the community. Perhaps you have specialist skills to offer us. Please get in touch, we would love to hear from you.

Special offer!

VBC is committed to training and empowering our staff as well as the community.

If you are a qualified teacher – practising or retired – we’d love your help.

We will waive the volunteer fees for qualified teachers and we will accept short-term placements as your primary role will be working with teachers to improve their skills. You will need to pay for your own accommodation.

Most of VBCCC’s teachers are still at university and they would love help with lesson planning, class structures and procedures and managing a class.

If you think you can help, please contact us. Proof of qualifications may be required.
